About Raymond
Raymond is one of India's best-known textile, apparel and lifestyle groups, with a large retail footprint and a workforce spread across stores, factories, sales teams and corporate offices. Raymond Lifestyle Limited houses the group's lifestyle businesses.
The challenge
Raymond had outgrown its legacy expense applications. Travel requests, spend and reimbursement lived in different tools, approvals were hard to govern consistently across business units, and employees found the process slow. Finance needed enterprise-wide visibility of spend, and the solution had to work with several SAP servers running different landscapes.
In the customer video, Raymond's Chief Data & AI Officer describes the need for enterprise-wide visibility, and its CFO the need to balance governance with usability.
The solution
Raymond chose Xpense to consolidate travel, spend and reimbursement into a single AI-powered workflow.
Trip requests, expense reports, advances and approvals in one place, for store, finance, sales, operations and travel-desk teams.
•
A structured approval and reimbursement process that balances governance with usability.
•
Integration with multiple SAP servers running different landscapes.
•
Automatic employee and business-unit master sync from Raymond's HR system.
•
Travel wallet and travel-desk booking.
•
Spend dashboards for finance and leadership.

How Raymond Rolled Out AI Expense Management to 5,500 Users in 10 Weeks. Xpense at another customer: Raymond.
A 10-week, UAT-driven rollout
AeonX and Raymond ran a battle-tested 10-week implementation. Product designers worked around real workflow friction reported by users, the project team ran a structured UAT with Raymond's finance and travel teams, and adoption was driven team by team across stores, finance, sales, operations and the travel desk. Raymond went live for 5,500 users at the end of the ten weeks.
Architecture
Xpense runs as multi-tenant SaaS on AWS with a dedicated database for Raymond. A PHP (Yii2) API serves the Next.js admin portal and Flutter mobile app, with connectors for Raymond's SAP landscapes and HR system, TBO travel content and bank payout files.
Where Claude comes in
The Xpense team used Claude Code to build its major 2026 release: about 1,050 commits across the API, admin portal and mobile app carry a Claude co-author, from six developers.
In production, Claude reads receipts and verifies its own extraction, checks suspected duplicate bills, rates each report Green, Amber or Red for approvers (Smart Approver), and powers a WhatsApp expense assistant. Auto-approval stays off by default.
Results
Raymond's product team reports 5,500 users live and about 80% of the time previously spent on legacy applications saved.

The customer video features Dr. Biswajit (Chief Data & AI Officer) on enterprise-wide visibility, Vishal Raigagla (CFO) on governance meeting usability, Sunil Savita (SAP Head) on integrating multiple SAP landscapes, and members of Raymond's finance, travel, product and project teams on approvals, reporting, the request-to-approval journey and the UAT behind the go-live.
How AeonX builds with Claude
AeonX runs every product repository as a Claude Code project. Each repository carries a CLAUDE.md project memory that records architecture, SAP posting rules and coding conventions, plus a set of Claude Code sub-agents (planner, developer, tester, security reviewer and DevOps) that mirror the team's own delivery process. Engineers pair with Claude Code on design, implementation, refactoring and tests; commits written with Claude carry a Co-Authored-By: Claude trailer, which is how the figures in this story were measured.
